Our story · Hampton, NB

Named for
the rapids.

The Gridiron is a wild stretch of the Kennebecasis River — rushing water near our old family homestead that's been part of our story for generations. When it came time to name a brewery, there was never really another option.

The name

A river runs
through it

Long before there were taps to pour, there was the river. The Gridiron rapids tumble through the Kennebecasis valley near the old family homestead — a stretch of water our family has fished, paddled, and told stories about for generations.

While family is the beating heart of this business, Gridiron has grown into something bigger. It's a gathering place — a welcoming space built on community, deep connections, and a shared love of great beer and even better company.

And no — it's got nothing to do with football.

The brewing

Small batches,
short distances

We brew right here in Hampton, on the very shores of the Kennebecasis. Whenever we can, local New Brunswick and Canadian grains go into the vats, rounded out with the finest ingredients from farther afield to land the perfect pint.

Twelve handles, always flowing — six flagships that never leave the wall, and a rotating cast of seasonals and guest taps that keep things interesting. Brewed steps from where it's poured.

The room

Come as
you are

Regulars and out-of-towners, paddlers and hikers, kids with colouring books and dogs in costume — the taproom works because everybody's welcome in it. Board games stacked, zero-proof options on hand, and a patio where the river breeze does half the hosting.

Proudly brewed in our hometown, with deep respect for where we come from — and a raised glass to everyone who walks through the door.
